Running On Bowerman
I took this picture in Spring 2008, prior to graduation from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. I was working as a photographer for Mosaic (hopefully, our issue will be up soon) on the Spring 2008 issue based around the Olympic Trials. The picture was taken right before dusk on Bowerman Curve at Hayward Field during the women’s 5,000 meter run at the Oregon Relays. I used a shutter speed of 1/15th of a second and panned with the field.

Painting Streamers
Did a little experimentation on the balcony of the Hyatt in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii. It was late and I didn’t have a tripod with me, but the lights from the traffic and the beach looked really cool. I opened the shutter up on my camera and started moving it back and forth slowly. This picture is the result.

Turtle Back
I took this picture on a recent trip to Hawaii. We were staying at a condo at the Royal Mauiian in South Kihei, Maui and tons of sea turtles would come in in the evenings and eat off the rocks right out in front of the condos. This sea turtle was dove forward and his flippers and the back of his shell came cresting out of the water.

Tequila Sunrise
This picture is the full-size image of the header, which I had to crop down to fit. I took this picture in Cabo San Lucas, Baja del California, Mexico, during spring break 2008. The Office, a great restaurant on the beach, has a tequila bar that looked stunning. It was early in the morning, and we had just got done eating breakfast. I liked the way the light was streaming through the bottles–Tequila Sunrise.
